Bromsgrove Rugby Club is a long-standing Worcestershire club with senior, veterans, mini, junior and academy teams based at Finstall Park. It needed a new website to showcase fixtures and news, support players, members and sponsors, and drive engagement in the local community. We designed and built a club site that does all of that and is easy for volunteers to keep up to date.
The brief
A rugby club website serves a lot of people at once: players checking fixtures, parents looking for the right age group, supporters reading match news, sponsors looking for exposure, and local people wanting to hire a function space. Most club sites manage one or two of those well and neglect the rest.
The club wanted a modern, professional site that made it easy to find the essentials, gave sponsors proper visibility and reflected the club’s standing in West Midlands rugby, while being simple enough for club volunteers to update week to week.
What we did
We built the website design around the things people come to a club site for: Fixtures, Teams, News, Shop, Sponsorship, Event Spaces, Policies and Contact, with a Join the Club section for new players and a login link to the club’s existing Pitchero system so membership and team administration stay where they already live.
The Teams section covers the 1st XV, 2nd XV and 3rd XV with their leagues, the Crusaders veterans side and the Sunday minis, juniors and academy from Under 6 to Under 16, so a parent or a prospective player can see exactly where they fit. News is given a prominent place for club events, lunches, ticket applications and social occasions.
Sponsors are featured on the homepage with testimonials, and a Sponsorship page sets out the opportunity for local businesses. An Event Spaces page promotes the clubhouse for functions, a club shop is built in, and a newsletter signup helps the club stay in touch with members and supporters. The site is fast, works well on mobile for people checking fixtures on the go, and uses a simple editing setup so volunteers can post news and update details without technical help.
Why it works
The site organises the club’s many audiences into clear, obvious routes rather than a single wall of information. Players, parents, supporters, sponsors and hirers each find their section quickly, which is what keeps people coming back to the site rather than relying on social media alone.
Giving sponsors genuine prominence makes the website part of the club’s commercial offer, and keeping membership administration in the existing Pitchero system avoids duplicating work for volunteers.

Bromsgrove RFC now has a modern club website that presents its fixtures, teams, news and events clearly, gives sponsors visibility, promotes its event spaces and shop, and can be kept up to date by the club’s own volunteers.
