Brophy Riaz and Partners is a RIBA-registered architecture practice in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter with more than 25 years’ experience across residential, commercial, religious, educational and conservation work. The practice needed a website that showcased that body of work properly and made it easy for new clients across the West Midlands to get in touch. We designed and built a portfolio-led site that does both.
The brief
A practice with decades of completed projects has a lot to show, and the challenge is organising it so a visitor can find the work that matters to them. A homeowner planning a loft conversion and a committee planning a religious building are looking for very different evidence, and the site had to serve both.
The practice also wanted to be found by the people it serves. That meant explaining its services in plain terms, covering the areas it works in and giving prospective clients a simple route to the free initial consultation it offers.
What we did
We built the website design around a filterable Projects portfolio, organised by type: housing developments, house extensions, loft conversions, new builds, religious buildings, barn conversions and commercial work. Notable projects and awards are highlighted so credibility is visible without a visitor having to dig.
The Services section is split into residential and commercial architecture, with pages for new-build homes, extensions, loft, garage and barn conversions, commercial and listed buildings, religious buildings and architectural models, alongside clear guides to permitted development, planning applications, building regulations, change of use and lawful development certificates. An Areas We Serve section gives the towns across the West Midlands their own pages.
About includes Meet the Team and Careers, a Blog covers topics such as choosing an architect, planning and listed buildings, and the Contact page offers a form, phone number and email with an invitation to get in touch for an initial conversation. The site is built to load quickly, present project imagery well on any device and be updated by the practice as new projects complete.
Why it works
Organising the portfolio by project type lets each visitor see the evidence that is relevant to them, which is what turns an impressive body of work into a reason to enquire. Pairing projects with plain-language service and planning guides answers the practical questions clients have before they commit.
The service and area structure also gives the site a strong footing in local search, with specific pages for the kinds of projects and the places the practice wants to work.
The result
Brophy Riaz and Partners now has a website that presents more than 25 years of architectural work in a clear, filterable portfolio, explains its residential, commercial and planning services, covers the areas it serves, and gives prospective clients a straightforward route to an initial conversation.
Frequently asked questions
Do you build websites for other architects?
Yes. We work with architecture and design practices across the UK, and we understand how to present project work well while keeping the site fast and findable.
Can the portfolio be filtered by project type?
Yes. We build portfolios so visitors can filter by type, sector or location, and so the practice can add new projects easily.
Can we add new projects ourselves?
Yes. Projects, team profiles and blog posts can all be added by your team without a developer, and we provide support if needed.
Will the site help us get found locally?
Service and area pages give you a strong base for local search. If you want to go further, we offer SEO on rolling monthly terms with no long contracts.
How long does an architecture website take to build?
It depends on the number of projects and the amount of content, but most practice sites take a few weeks from brief to launch. We agree a timeline with you before starting.
