Leo’s Legacy Foundation

Leo’s Legacy Foundation is a Birmingham charity working to prevent knife crime through education, early intervention and life-saving Critical Response bleed-control resources. They needed a website with the emotional weight the cause deserves and the clarity to turn visitors into supporters. We designed and built it as a web design project.

The brief

A charity founded in response to loss has a story that needs telling with care. The site had to be powerful and emotive without tipping into sensationalism, and it had to explain three distinct strands of work, education, early intervention and bleed-control resources, to audiences as different as schools, community groups, parents and potential donors.

It also needed to work as a practical tool, a place where people can understand the charity’s purpose, find out how to get involved and support it, rather than a static page about the cause.

What we did

We started with the story. The design leads with Leo’s legacy and the reason the charity exists, using strong imagery and a confident, respectful tone, then moves quickly into what the foundation actually does. Each strand of work has its own clearly signposted section so a teacher looking for education sessions and someone interested in Critical Response bleed-control resources both find the right content without hunting.

The structure keeps the message simple on mobile, where most visitors from social media will arrive. Short sections, clear headings and consistent calls to action mean the site reads well on a phone and loads quickly.

We built the site so the charity’s team can keep it current themselves, adding news, events and updates as the work develops, with the design holding its shape whatever they publish.

Why it works

Emotion earns attention, clarity earns action. By pairing a strong narrative with a plain explanation of the charity’s programmes, the site gives visitors a reason to care and an obvious way to help.

Keeping the three strands of work separate but connected means the charity can speak to schools, communities and supporters in one place without diluting any of the messages.

The result

Leo’s Legacy Foundation now has a website that tells its story with the weight it deserves, explains its education, early intervention and Critical Response bleed-control work clearly, and gives supporters and partners a straightforward way to get involved.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work with charities and non-profits?

Yes. We build websites for charities and community organisations and understand the balance between telling a difficult story and making it easy to support the cause.

How long does a charity website take to build?

Most charity sites take a few weeks once the content and imagery are agreed. We work around trustees and volunteers’ availability where we can.

Can the charity update the site without a developer?

Yes. News, events and page content are all editable in-house, and we provide a short handover so the team is comfortable making changes.

Can you add donation or fundraising features?

Yes. We can integrate donation platforms, fundraising pages and event sign-ups as part of the build or later on.

Where are you based?

We are based in Birmingham and London and work with organisations across the UK. We offer a free consultation to talk through what you need.
