A fitness brand wanted more organic visitors and, just as importantly, more of them converting. We ran an SEO programme that improved rankings across a broad set of target terms and tightened the site’s conversion paths, with the result that organic traffic doubled and conversion rate rose at the same time.
The brief
Fitness is a crowded search space, with national brands, content publishers and marketplaces all competing for the same terms. The brand had a decent site but was not ranking where it needed to for the searches that drive sales and sign-ups, and the traffic it did get was not converting as well as it could.
The brief was to grow organic traffic meaningfully and make sure the growth translated into results, not just visits. That meant competing across a wide set of terms rather than betting everything on a few, and fixing the parts of the site that were quietly losing visitors once they arrived.
What we did
We started with keyword research to map the terms the brand could realistically win, across product, category and informational searches, then restructured and optimised the key pages around them. Technical SEO work improved crawlability, page speed and mobile performance so the site had a sound foundation.
Content was expanded to cover the questions and comparisons customers search for before they buy, with internal linking connecting that content to the product and category pages it supports.
Alongside the ranking work, we reviewed the conversion paths on the pages receiving the most organic traffic, simplifying the route to purchase or sign-up and making calls to action clearer, particularly on mobile.
Why it works
Gaining positions across many terms, rather than chasing a handful of head keywords, builds traffic that is resilient and spread across the funnel. Technical health makes those gains stick.
Treating conversion as part of SEO, not a separate job, means more traffic and a better conversion rate compound rather than one being wasted on the other.
The result
The brand gained more than 150 ranking positions across its target terms, organic traffic doubled, and conversion rate lifted by 7%.
Frequently asked questions
Do you work with fitness and wellbeing brands?
Yes. We work with gyms, fitness brands and wellbeing businesses, and the competitive nature of the sector suits a structured SEO approach.
How long does it take to double organic traffic?
It depends on where you start and how competitive your terms are. Technical gains can show within weeks, while broad ranking growth typically builds over months. We report monthly so you see the trajectory.
Does SEO include improving conversion rate?
We treat them together. Driving traffic to pages that do not convert wastes the work, so we review and improve conversion paths as part of the programme.
What does an SEO programme involve?
Keyword research, technical fixes, on-page optimisation, content and internal linking, and monthly reporting on rankings, traffic and conversions.
Are there long contracts?
No. Our SEO runs on rolling monthly terms, and we start with a free audit.
