A law firm came to us with a website that was not pulling its weight. Visitors arrived but too few of them got in touch. We rebuilt the site around the people using it, removing friction at every step, and the enquiry rate rose to two to three times what it had been.
The brief
The firm’s existing site was typical of the sector: lots of information, a structure built around the firm’s departments rather than the client’s problem, and contact details tucked away. People looking for help had to work to find the right service and then work again to make contact.
The brief was to rebuild the site so that a prospective client could understand what the firm could do for them and get in touch with minimum effort, on any device.
What we did
We started by looking at how visitors actually used the old site and where they dropped off. That shaped a new structure organised around the situations clients find themselves in, so someone arriving with a specific need lands on a page that speaks to it directly.
Each service page was rewritten in plain English, with the firm’s credentials and reassurance placed where a nervous first-time client would look for them. Calls to action were made consistent and visible: a clear enquiry form, a tap-to-call number and the next step repeated at natural points down the page.
The site was built responsive and mobile-first, with particular attention to page speed, since a slow legal site loses people before they have read a word. Enquiry tracking was set up so the firm could see which pages and which routes were producing contact.
Why it works
People contacting a law firm are often stressed and short of time. A site that meets them with a clear answer and an easy way to ask for help converts far better than one that expects them to navigate the firm’s org chart.
Measuring enquiries, rather than just visits, also means every design decision can be judged on whether it produced more contact.
The result
The rebuilt site delivers an effortless experience that turns visitors into enquiries. The firm’s enquiry rate rose to two to three times its previous level from the same traffic.
Frequently asked questions
Do you build websites for other law firms?
Yes. We work with solicitors and legal practices across the UK from our Birmingham and London offices, from single-office firms to multi-department practices.
What does ‘rebuilding around the user’ actually mean?
Structuring the site around the problems clients arrive with rather than the firm’s departments, writing in plain English, and making the route to an enquiry obvious on every page and every device.
Can we keep our existing content?
Usually some of it. We review what you have, keep what is working and rewrite or restructure the rest so it serves the new site.
How do you measure enquiry rate?
We track form submissions and phone calls in Google Analytics against the number of visitors, so you can see the proportion of visitors who get in touch and how it changes.
Do you offer SEO for law firms as well?
Yes. SEO and Google Ads are available on rolling monthly terms with no long contracts, and we start with a free audit.
