A recruitment business needed more than a brochure site. It needed a platform where candidates could search live roles and employers could manage their own listings. We designed and built that platform from scratch, giving the business a working job search and employer area rather than a static list of vacancies.
The brief
The existing arrangement meant every new vacancy had to be added by hand and candidates had no way to filter what was there. As the number of roles grew, the site became harder to maintain and less useful to the people it was meant to serve.
The brief was a platform with two sides: a searchable job board for candidates and a secure area where employers could post, edit and close their own listings, all built on a system the business could run without a developer on hand.
What we did
We built a custom job search on WordPress with roles stored as structured listings, so candidates can search and filter by the criteria that matter and open a clear role page with a straightforward application route. The search is fast and works well on mobile, where a large share of candidate activity takes place.
For employers we built a managed listings area with accounts, so each employer can add a role, update it, mark it filled and see their live listings in one place. Listings follow a consistent template, which keeps the front end tidy regardless of who posts.
The whole system is editable by the business through the WordPress admin, so new roles, employers and page content can be managed without a developer, and the platform can be extended as the business grows.
