Healthy Minds Together is a private educational psychology practice supporting SEND children, young people, families and schools across the West Midlands. The brief was a warm, reassuring website that explains a specialist service in plain language and makes getting in touch feel easy. We designed and built it as a web design project.
The brief
Families looking for an educational psychologist are often anxious, tired and unsure what the process involves. Schools, by contrast, want to know quickly what services are available and how to commission them. The site had to speak to both audiences without feeling clinical or corporate.
It also needed to reflect the practitioner’s own approach, child-centred, relational and multilingual, so that the tone of the site matched the experience of working with her.
What we did
We designed a calm, welcoming site with soft colours, plenty of space and a friendly, first-person voice. The home page introduces the practitioner and her approach before moving into services, so visitors understand who they would be working with.
The four core services, educational psychology assessment, consultation and problem solving, EHCP and SEND support, and training and professional support, each have a clear explanation of what they involve and who they are for. A dedicated Approach page sets out the child-centred, relational and multilingual principles, and an FAQs page answers the practical questions parents and SENCOs tend to ask before they enquire.
Every page leads to a simple Get in touch route, and the site is built mobile-first so a parent reading on a phone in the evening has the same clear experience as a school business manager at a desk.
Why it works
Reassurance comes from clarity. By explaining services and process in everyday language and putting the practitioner’s approach front and centre, the site lowers the barrier for families who may never have contacted a psychologist before.
A clean structure also helps the practice be found for the specific services and areas it covers, and gives it a solid foundation for local SEO should it want to grow that side later.
